Italian national Antonio Candreva was close to going to Chelsea. This was revealed by his agent Federico Pastorello in an interview with Rai Sport. The midfielder, who will be 31 years old this month, has always been a favorite of Antonio Conte, but the manager of the team from Stamford Bridge has struck a stone in his desire to attract him last January.
'Antonio was on the move from Chelsea in early 2017, although he had signed up with Inter soon. Now the transfer market is closed, but there may be news in the summer!', Pastorello said.
'Candreva was very enthusiastic when he went to Inter because that was the team he wanted to play. We hope the team will overcome the difficult period in which it is located. If Inter finished in the top four and qualified for the Champions League, I think Candreva will stay!', Pastorolo added. Candreva is not very strong during the season and has no goal in Serie A, but has made eight assists.
