The loss means also a loss of significant number of points for Dimitrov. The Sportsman No1 of Bulgaria had to defend the trophy in Acapulco, which means to defend 500 points.
By reaching the second round, however Grisha managed to preserve only 45 points, which means that from Monday sure he will lose his place in the Top 10 rankings.

For Ryan Harrison, however, this was the first victory over Dimitrov in three matches against this opponent.
